Trainee guide dog seeks temporary accommodation in Beverley! Do you know that most of the guide dogs that you see in the East Riding, York, Selby and the whole of Lincolnshire are trained in Beverley? Our dogs love their work but they also love their down time so this is where you come in. We are looking for committed volunteers to give temporary homes to the dogs that are undergoing training, a bit like a bed and breakfast hotel for them. Boarders are needed for anything from 10 weeks to 26 weeks, overnight and at weekends. The dog will need to be dropped off each morning at work (our office in Beverley) before 9.15 am and then picked up at the end of the day before 5.15pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to have the benefits of caring for a dog without the full-time responsibility. The added bonus for you is knowing that you have been a key part in changing someone’s future by helping our trainee dogs become active working guide dogs. Full training, support, food and equipment is provided. The role is subject to suitable references and a home visit. Guide Dogs know that every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, we’re here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well. If you would like more details about the role please email email@example.com or Samantha.firstname.lastname@example.org telephone 07825 905903/0118 983 8753.
