The Future of Recruitment in the UAE

As the NicestJobs.ae team sat around the board table back in June this year, we had one question that we needed to answer before we embarked on our journey… 

Will launching a video focused recruitment platform in the UAE actually work?

After seeing the success that our sister platform had gathered in the UK charity space, we knew the concept would replicate to the commercial sector exceptionally well in this part of the world… For instance, did you know?

  • More video content is created and uploaded to social media in a 30 day period globally, than has been created by all of the major US television networks combined in over 30 years;
  • 80% of global web traffic is now video content consumption;
  • The UAE has one of the highest smartphone and social media penetration rates, with 3.6 hours per day spent on Facebook alone;
  • 76% of the UAE’s population are active mobile internet users, with the majority watching video content on the move.

If we focus in on what people actually want whilst looking for a new job opportunity and what is important to them, it is not always about the job title or the salary. Culture, environment, additional benefits and most importantly, having the ability to #WorkHappy are a fundamental part of choosing who to work for.

From an employer’s perspective, having the ability to showcase an organisation through video and bring the business to life will not only help attract the best talent, but will give a unique opportunity to share an insight into their real life.

To take it down an additional level, and having the ability to also showcase a specific role really allows a business to portray the type of person they are looking for and brings the opportunity to life!

To close the loop, we get rid of the mundane task of searching through thousands of paper based and written CV’s, by asking any interested candidates to submit a short video CV on why they are the best person for the job! This allows the employee to showcase themselves to a prospective employer, allowing a more precise description of their personality and attitude.

The timing for the launch of NicestJobs.ae is also key for the UAE market, in that we only allow #NiceEmployers onto the platform. We are going live in 2017 – The Year of Giving, as declared by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan back in December 2016. One of the key pillars of this initiative is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Public and Private sector organisations tasked to launch initiatives that benefit the society as a whole, encouraging employees to participate and get involved. What better way to tell the nation what a #NiceEmployer you are by highlighting some of your achievements throughout The Year of Giving, whilst attracting the best talent available in this market.

All of this leads us to the forthcoming launch of NicestJobs.ae this September 2017…
